HISTORY
The Maligaya Trinity Baptist Church came to existence through a missionary couple named Bill & Helen Tisdale. Worship services and other activities were first conducted at a wooden house the couples have rented in San Miguel, Tarlac with only a handful of churchgoers in attendance.
In 1961, with the help of the Southern Baptist Mission and the hardwork of the missionary Bill Tisdale, they had acquired an 800 sq.m lot and built a church and a parsonage. Helping Bill Tiscade lay-out the groundwork that time were the church first workers Rev. Felisito Narvarez followed by Rev. Moises de Guzman, Ptr. Rodriguez, Ptr. Padro, Ret. Col. Alejandro Ignacio who taught the members to be diligent in God’s work. Pastor Melquiadez Mandap came in next where he served longer than his predecessors. Under Ptr. Mel, outreaches were undertaken at the places of Bureau of Animal Industries in Paraiso, Tarlac, Brgy. Dela Paz and Brgy. Buenavista with a number of young people as workers.
With Ptr. Mel Mandap, the ever-diligent and faithful servant of God, the Maligaya Trinity Baptist Church was kept in good stead. The church was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission before Ptr. Mel left for the United States in 1986.
In 1987, a man of God by the name of Ptr. Raoul Crisologo came in and together with his wife continued what his predecessors have started. It was Ptr. Crisologo’s time when TAFBAC was born, where interpersonal relationships among the Baptist Churches in Tarlac have strongly grown. Ptr. Crisologo’s pastorate lasted until 1992.
In 1992-1994, MTBC have experienced turbulence as no full time worker was available to lead the flock of the MTBC. The church was contented at inviting speakers from other churches from time to time and at times leaned on some elders. Other ministerial works were ably filled in by a handful of dedicated young people. It was in those years that an interim pastor was called in by the name of Bonifacio Bairan. It was short-lived however as he was replaced by Ptr. Uldarico Almirañez as interim pastor in 1994. Ptr. Almirañez eventually accepted the Church call to be the full time worker of the Maligaya Trinity Baptist Church with Ptr. Eddie Pigar as his Associate Pastor, where they stayed until 1997. It was under Ptr. Almirañez baton that a private school was conceived, and in 1995 Trinity Christian Learning School, Inc. rose to existence.
In 1997, a youthful, vibrant, dedicated and innocent looking servant of God was commissioned to serve as an interim pastor in the person of Ptr. William G. Garcia. Under his able leadership, church ministries have grown and expanded as outreaches in Parang, Damsite, Burot and Atioc were opened as well Home Bible studies. A group of men was formed and were called BAPTIST MEN, which became a model because other churches in TAFBAC followed suit. The Baptist Men have undergone vigorous and intensive trainings, studies and were later tasked to speak in pulpit alternately during Sunday vesper service.
The Trinity Christian Learning School, Inc. and now Maligaya Trinity Baptist Christian Academy, Inc. meanwhile blossomed as a private school this side of the city that from a mere two classrooms pre-elementary start, the school grew bigger and bigger in enrollment each year.
Ptr. William has his share of tremendous testing at Maligaya Trinity Baptist Church but a patient and durable man that he is; he was able to withstand all the turbulences that came his way thru God’s grace.
In 2003, God has blessed us as a church, we were able to acquire a new property in Brgy. Ungot where the High School Department is situated. The nearly-constructed building then was inaugurated by the former Honorable City Mayor Genaro Mendoza. Church activities such as youth camp, church fellowship are also being held at the school compound. Significantly these properties were acquired and realized despite limited resources or no resources at all, but by the grace of God, He made it happened.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Scriptures, the Sixty-Six books of the OLD and NEW TESTAMENT to be verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, infallible and inspired word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
WE BELIEVE that there is only living and true God, God-perfect, infinite and eternal.
WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ, eternal Son of God became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. His ministry since His advent at Pentecost is to reprove and convict the world of sin. (John 18:8-12)
WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God, purchased rather in likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. (Romans 3:22-23)
WE BELIEVE that salvation is a gift of God purchased by Christ whose precious blood washed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Brought to man in grace by the work of the Holy Spirit that causes man to voluntarily receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and place faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
WE BELIEVE that all the redeemed, once saved are kept by God’s power and thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40)
WE BELIEVE that all person regardless of race, color and nationality who by faith received Christ as personal Lord and Saviour belongs to the Universal and invisible Church of Christ.
WE BELIEVE that the local and visible church is an organization made up of professed believers in Christ, voluntarily joined together and meeting of stated times of worship fellowship and instruction in the Scriptures and observing the ordinances administering oversight and discipline (Acts 2:45-47)
WE BELIEVE that it is the duty of the church to give the gospel as a witness to all men (Matthew 28:19-20)
WE BELIEVE that civil government is ordained for the punishment of evil doers and for the protection of the good (Romans 13:1-7)
WE BELIEVE in the personal, visible, and bodily second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18)
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the wicked for external punishment in hell and the resurrection of the righteous for a blessed place in heaven.
